Dear Leader,

Life Group Guideline

Theme – Releasing the power of God's Word in your life

Opening Prayer:

Ask the following question: "Your house is on fire, and everyone is safe. You have 30 seconds to run through the house and collect three or four articles you want to save. What would you grab? Why?" After everyone has done this, the group can discuss what they learned about the things they value.

#NT260 Check in:

During the New Testament readings this week we read much about faith. Read the following passages and have a brief discussion on the topic of faith.
 Matthew 15:21-28 (The faith of the Canaanite Woman)
 Matthew 16:13-20 (Peter's confession of faith)
 Matthew 17:14-23 (The healing of a boy with a demon)

Discussion on Sunday's Sermon – Releasing the Power of God's Word in our lives.

There is a visible difference between believers who release God's Word in their lives and those who don't. If we release God's Word we can look forward to greater victory and blessing. It is important to take scripture, mix it with faith, and put it into action.
You are the prophet of your own life. We need to confess things over our lives that are in line with God's Word.

1. Read Isaiah 55:8-9
 In what ways are God's thoughts and ways higher than our ways?
 If God's thoughts are higher than our thoughts and His ways higher than our ways, what do we need to do to access His thoughts and ways?
 What hinders us from seeing our situations through God's eyes.

2. Read Isaiah 55:10-11
 God's Word will accomplish its purpose. God's Word never fails to achieve its aims, no army in the world can stop it. God says it will not return to me void.
 How can we develop a possessing spirit regarding the things of God? What can we do to actively release God's powerful Word into the situations we face?

3. What Scripture or Word are you standing on at this point of your life?
 Ask group members to share a testimony of a time in their lives when they were standing on a Word from the Lord, and it came to pass.
 Give your group members some time to write down a situation they are facing, or a role that they fulfil, and ask them to wait on the Lord for a Scripture that they can stand on.

Prayer ministry:

Divide into groups of 3 and encourage Life Group members to minister to one another. If they are willing to share their situation and their key Scripture from point 3 with each other that will be great. Pray the Scriptures over one another and allow the gifts of the Holy Spirit to flow.
