Dear Leader,

This past Sunday was a Worship and Communion Service. During both services the Holy Spirit moved in a beautiful way during out time or worship. Let's trust that the Holy Spirit will move in a similar way in our Life Groups this week. After an initial discussion as per the guideline, it will be great if you can have a time of worship and soaking in the Holy Spirit.

John prophesied during both services. Let's reflect on this message shared during the second service worship:

How God loves you. He says draw near to Me and I will respond to you. I thank you for victory beginning to rise in this place. God says I have made you to be the head and not the tail, to be above and not beneath, for it is my good pleasure to make you victorious. Whatever is born of God overcomes the world, and you are born of God. So you are an overcomer. Let's begin to praise Him like we are overcomers. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, and He does. I can do all things through Christ. You are my strength, You are my shield, You are my strong tower, You are my deliverer, You are the mighty God, You are the Great I am, You are my all in all. For it's you Lord we adore.

Listen to the Word of the Lord (Psalm 27:1-6). The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh, my enemies and foes, they stumbled and fell. Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war may rise against me, in this I will be confident. One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple. For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.

Life Group Guideline

Opening Prayer

#NT260 Check in and Icebreaker

We have just started the Gospel of Mark in our #NT260 reading. Read Mark 2:14-17. The icebreaker question is "If you could invite Jesus to your home for a meal, who else would you invite to join you and why?" (Leaders reflect on people's answers, and then emphasise the importance of inviting the lost, the sinners, the broken, the outcasts).

Theme – Overcomers

Scripture Readings:

Psalm 27:1-6
Psalm 34:4-5
2 Kings 6:8-23

Discussion: What stood out for you from the story in Kings and from the 2 scriptures in Psalms?

Ponder: Give each of your Life Group members a piece of paper and ask them to write down a situation where they need the Lord to help them overcome. Then ask them to write out a prayer to the Lord where they petition Him for help. (They don't need to share this with anyone).

Worship and lingering in the presence of the Holy Spirit :

John mentioned that the Lord has been speaking to him, and many people have also come to see him with words regarding what the Lord is wanting to do at CHOOSE LIFE Church. The words have been clear about God working by His Holy Spirit in a new way, a new level, in an increased capacity. And that God wants to do it. He who has ears to hear let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the church. Let this seed find fertile ground in your heart.

We say 'Yes' to the moving of the Holy Spirit. This is God's good pleasure!

So during the time of worship, as a Life Group, welcome the Holy Spirit and ask Him to minister in your midst.

Please download the following two songs from YouTube:

Waiting here for you by Christy Nockels https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3OEGnH5x8g
Surrounded by Michael W Smith https://youtu.be/YBl84oZxnJ4

The second song is important. You may want to play it more than once and trust for the Holy Spirit to move in your midst. It is a powerful declaration.

Prayer ministry:

Flow straight from the Worship and time in the Presence of the Lord into a time of prayer ministry and prophetic ministry. Especially minister to people who are feeling overwhelmed. People who feel they cannot cope with all they are facing in life at the moment.
