#NT260 Check in:
Read James 3:1-10 as group. There is life and death in the power of the tongue. How can we consistently speak life and hope over ourselves, over others and over the nation of South Africa?

Theme – Victory (Pursuing victory's finish line. Victory is imminent.)

Introduction
God has been encouraging us as a Church. Pastor John ministered a few weeks ago and highlighted that we are the head and not the tail, that we are strong in the Lord. We need to know that God is for us, that He is not withholding His blessing from us.

This season of battle has been long and many of God's people have become weary, some even shell shocked and injured. The Bible talks much about battle and warfare. Yet there is a sense that the Lord is giving us strength and encouraging us to persevere, because victory is imminent.

The battle is for our soul and for our relationship with the Lord. And the battle is for this nation, and the soul of this nation.

And there has been a battle toll:
- Some have given up on the battle and have walked away from the faith.
- Health difficulties.
- Financial difficulties.
- Breakdown of relationships. Marriages, friendships, race relationships.

Yet God has victory in store for His people. He wants us to be victorious so that we can step into the new season of our lives with a sense of wholeness. After the battle of Jericho God told the people to stay away from the accursed things. (Joshua 6:18). God doesn't want us to carry any unclean things into the new season of our life.

1. Stand up straight and march in unison.
We are stronger in God than we sometimes feel. We need to continue to walk with hope and courage, fighting the good fight in the name of Jesus.
Read the following Scriptures:
- Romans 8:37 (NKJV)
- Romans 8:11 (NKJV)
- 2 Timothy 2:3-4 (NKJV)
- 2 Corinthians 10:1-5 (NKJV)
These verses are not referring to a defeated people but to a victorious people. This is who we are. We need to march in unison. We are not alone. We are part of God's church. We are part of God's army. We have a responsibility to take care of one another. To help one another to stand and be victorious.

Jesus is the Lord of hosts, the Lord of heavens armies. And the church is on the offensive not the defensive. The gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Discussion 1: We are in a spiritual battle, what has stood out for you from the Scriptures above?

2. Accept that the victory is yours in Him.
Read:
- Jeremiah 29:11
- 1 Cor 15:37
- 1 John 5:4-5
Discussion 2: Do you see yourself as victorious or defeated? How can God's Word help you to see yourself as victorious?

3. What are we to do at this time.

Know our enemy
Ephesians 6:12

Know our weapons
2 Cor 10:4
Ephesians 6:14-17

Continue in the battle

Take care of each other
Ephesians 6:18.

Discussion 3: Ask each person to share two things that they are going to start doing (or do more of) to fulfil their responsibility in the battle?

Prayer ministry
Pray for and minister to one another.

Regards
