Theme: You can picture it in your mind the excitement of Nehemiah and those who built the city wall. It was constant struggle with tools in the one hand and sword in the other. The whole task may have seemed foolish had the vision for the task not have been rooted in God’s purpose. You could almost find it justifiable that they would have been caught up in the emotion of the completion of the task; however, they knew the task was only accomplished with God so they focused their attention and worship to Him. Let us do the same as we focus on the last session of this amazing topic.
Theme Scripture: Read Nehemiah 12:27-43 (Feel free to skip the complicated names)
Ask the LG the following questions:
1.Share of a time where you were able to be part of a work of God and see it through to completion and bear fruit to the glory of God?
2.Did this experience lead to natural and authentic worship?
3.How do you think God reacts in His heart when His people reach out to Him in worship?
  • Where are the nine? (Read Luke 17:11-19)
4.What are some of the reasons we forget to make the time to worship God?
5.What helps you to worship God with greater frequency and passion?
  • The heart of a worshipper (Nehemiah 12:27-43)
6.Describe the heart of a worshipper?
  • Lessons on worship
So much can be said regarding worship and the bible is full of illustrations. Here are some reflections on worship:
ØWorship is a spontaneous overflow of the heart that is in awe of who God is and what He has done.
ØWorship is an occupation of the mind that leads to a preoccupation with God.
ØWorship is the act of setting up memorials and establishing reminders of the great things God has done in our lives.
ØWorship is costly and involves sacrifice of who we are and what we have.
ØWorship is bigger than the here and now; it overflows into eternity.
In Closing
Read Psalm 100 in unison and with passion (You may want to make some copies of this scripture so everyone in the LG has the same version). Let this set the tone for some group prayer and worship.
