Strong Foundations Course
What is Next?
Living your life as a Christian is not a duty that is difficult or hard-bearing on your life. God wants us to live our lives to the fullness with His Joy and Strength in our hearts. Our lives are to be a walk of Faith in Jesus, the Rock of our lives.
In the parable of the wise and foolish man Jesus refered to our lives as the houses and where we build ourselves up. The wise man built his life (house) upon the rock, the strong foundation. How do we do that?
This 5 week (1 day a week) course is for all. Whether a new, or seasoned Christian, we can always dig our foundations a little deeper. Even those who have not given their hearts to Him and would like an understanding of what it means to do so are welcome to attend.
BAPTISM
We are so glad you are investigating baptism!
Although, it is not a requirement for Salvation, we encourage every believer to take this step. It is one of the best decisions you can make in your Christian walk. Baptism is an outward testimony of the inward decision you have already taken to follow Jesus!
In Matthew 28:19, Even Jesus Himself commissioned us “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
The ordinance of baptism is an act of obedience; a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection; a declaration that the believer has died with Christ and has been raised with Him to walk in newness of life; a public confession of the new believer’s faith in Christ; and the answer of a good conscience toward God (Matt. 3:13-17; Rom. 6:3-5; Col. 2:12; 1 Pet. 3:21).
MEMBERSHIP
Are you considering membership?
If so, then read on.
We believe it’s important to belong to a local church. Many people attend a church and yet never formally join as members. We encourage you to make a definite commitment to membership. Although Scripture doesn’t specifically say “Be a member” the concept of being vitally connected to a church family is implied. By becoming a member you are saying that CHOOSE LIFE Church will be your spiritual home; that you will be accountable to the church and that you intend growing spiritually as part of this body.
To become a member we require that you attend a MEMBERSHIP MEETING. This is a single meeting and not a course. These meetings take place periodically on a Tuesday evening and would last about 2 hours.
How do you know if you should join?
Prayerfully consider the matter. Do you sense God is specifically leading you to join CHOOSE LIFE? Do you sense God’s peace concerning the matter? If so, then He may well be leading you!
